Can the Cheffins Rural team help with succession planning?

We work with multiple generations of farmers and landowners, and can advise on inheritance and succession planning, no matter the size or complexity of your rural portfolio. We work with accountants and legal advisors to structure ownership, reduce liabilities, and prepare long-term farm transitions for our clients.

I’ve been approached by an energy company about my land – what should I do?

It’s not uncommon for energy companies to approach landowners and farmers regarding their land. They have legal rights under the Electricity Act 1989 and Gas Act 1986 to enter your land to make repairs, conduct maintenance, and install new infrastructure projects. However, you’re owed reasonable notice ahead of time, and should be properly compensated for any losses or land acquisition. To discuss your specific situation, please contact our rural team for more information.

What rural grants am I eligible for?

Being a rural landowner makes you eligible for a wide range of grants and subsidies, but knowing what you should pursue can be overwhelming. Our rural professionals can guide you through which grants you can apply for and walk you through the entire process of doing so. From CS Capital grants to the Sustainable Farming Incentive and the Farming Investment Fund, speak to our team to learn more.
