Cheffins has partnered with world-famous Cambridge-based bakery, Fitzbillies, to offer one bidder the chance to buy a year’s supply of Fitzbillies Chelsea buns as part of the firm’s 200-year Anniversary Charity Auction, with all proceeds going to The Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust.
Fitzbillies, a Cambridge institution since 1920, has kept its original Chelsea bun recipe unchanged for over a century. This auction lot gives the winner the chance to enjoy one iconic bun every day for a whole year, whether popping in daily, ordering weekly for office treats, or hosting a bun-filled celebration.

Fitzbillies was founded by Ernest and Arthur Mason, using their ‘demob’ money from the First World War. Fitzbillies was quickly established as the cake shop of choice for both Cambridge university at townsfolk. The bakery stayed open during and after the Second World War, with the Chelsea buns offering a rare treat in the days of rationing. In 2020, Fitzbillies celebrated its 100th anniversary.
