Over 70 vintage and classic tractors went under the hammer in North Willingham, near Market Rasen, Lincolnshire as part of the John Simpson collection. The sale, which took place on 17th June, was hosted by Cheffins and saw strong prices across all sections.

Amassed by local farmer, the late John Simpson, over a period of many years, the collection included a number of rare and collectable vintage tractors, with one of the highlights being a Field Marshall Series 1 tractor which sold for £15,000. This was followed by a 1944 Fordson Standard N rowcrop, which sold for £14,800, a 1942 Fordson Standard N tractor which made £12,000 and a 1969 Massey Ferguson which achieved £9,000.

Oliver Godfrey, Head of the Machinery Division at Cheffins comments: “This auction saw a huge amount of interest before the day, partly because John Simpson was so well regarded in the vintage preservation movement. We had a large attendance on the viewing and the sale days, with healthy results achieved across the board.”
