PetMedix Ltd, which works in antibody innovation in animal health, moved into 12,500sq ft of laboratory and office space in The Glenn Berge Building at Babraham Research Campus in April 2020. The company has now sublet part of the premises to BioCrucible Ltd.

The Glenn Berge Building at Babraham Research Park offers brand new office and laboratory accommodation in a prime research campus location. It forms part of the newly built ‘Biomed@Babraham’ scheme and includes a large entrance and reception area, lifts, car parking, loft space and external storage areas.

Michael Jones, Director and Head of Commercial Division at Cheffins comments: “This subletting is a prime example of how young, fast-growing Cambridge-based companies can work together across the science and research parks in the region. PetMedix is a rapidly expanding company and took the entire space with the view that they will be looking to scale-up premises in the near future. In the meantime, they took the decision to sublet part of their accommodation to another Cambridge success story which, in turn, will be looking to increase their holdings over the coming years.  These two companies are one of many of the Cambridge start-ups of which we see so often looking to scale-up and expand whilst staying in the collaborative environments of the likes of Babraham Research Campus, Chesterford Research Park and Granta Park.”

Thomas Weaver, Founder and CEO of PetMedix Ltd comments: “We’re delighted to have worked with Cheffins to secure the space at Babraham Research Campus, and the subsequent sublet to BioCrucible Ltd. Having our home at the heart of the ecosystem of innovative Cambridge start-up companies provides the perfect environment for continuing sustainable growth and expansion. It will be terrific to have a quality company like BioCrucible as a neighbour.”
