The scheme includes a brand-new warehouse of 2,600 sqm, a new frontage office block, additional landscaping, an HGV parking area and service yard, surface water drainage arrangements, with the scheme utilising an existing access onto the A10.

Masters Logistical Services, which has occupied the current site for over ten years, provides third party logistics to a range of local businesses, providing storage and delivery services to customer requirements.

Ian Smith, Director of Planning at Cheffins, who handled the application, comments: “This scheme represents a major growth ambition for the company which has been based at Stretham for 16 years, originally operating from just one former farm building. The company has occupied the current site for a decade and having outgrown its current premises, made steps to purchase the site, along with adjacent land to enable its expansion. The rapid growth of Masters is indicative of the increased importance of third-party logistics suppliers in the current market and follows a wave of growth for similar companies within the region. Following a significant planning process and with the help of DT Architects who designed the scheme, the application was passed unanimously by East Cambridgeshire District Council Planning Committee last week and subject to details, building work could begin next year.”
