The deadline for requesting an application pack for the Countryside Stewardship Scheme is 30th June. The overall deadline for submitting an application is 31st July. A variety of funding types are available under Mid-Tier, Higher-Tier, the Wildlife Offers, Hedgerows and Boundaries and Woodland Support. The Countryside Stewardship Scheme will continue to be open to new applicants until 2023, after which the Environmental Land Management (ELM) scheme will herald a new era from 2024. New entrants to CS are now guaranteed to benefit from a break clause allowing entry into ELM or its pilot scheme, if that later becomes the preferred option, meaning no-one should be deterred from entering a scheme now.
