Cheffins sponsored Cottenham Utd FC 1st team will be donating their ‘fine monies’ from the 19/20 season to help Addenbrookes Hospital.

The ‘fine monies’ are collected during the course of the football season for misdemeanours such as arriving late, wearing dirty boots, wearing the wrong kit and arguing with the ref. The kitty is then traditionally used for a good night out for the team after the season has ended. This year however the team felt strongly that the money would be put to much better use by donating it to local hospital Addenbrookes.

Player-Manager and Associate at Cheffins, Chris Hancock says: “The tradition of fining players for misdeeds throughout the season has always been a bit of fun. This year the fund stands at £719 and although this isn’t a huge amount of money, it will help in some small way to support our local hospital and staff who are working tirelessly in the face of the pandemic.”
