Previously occupied by Crew Clothing, this unit is the Cambridge-based tech education charity’s first retail space and has been agreed on a one-year lease all-inclusive rental. Situated on the first floor of the Grand Arcade, Raspberry Pi has fully fitted-out the 1,175 sq ft unit to include a retail shop, an interactive environment and one-to-one advisory space, as well as product sales, all with an educational slant. Once in operation, the Raspberry Pi shop will offer an experiential retail experience, with opportunities to not only buy Raspberry Pi products but also to allow for a vibrant interactive workspace and a place for customers to discuss their projects. In addition, Raspberry Pi will be offering in-store talks, Q&A sessions with Raspberry Pi specialists, whilst providing a welcoming atmosphere with refreshments and reading materials.

Edward Dodson, Director, Cheffins says: “In the current climate where few new occupiers are signing leases on retail units, Raspberry Pi have gone against the grain and taken a prime space in the centre of the Grand Arcade, illustrating the strength of their business in today’s market. The brief for Cheffins was to find Raspberry Pi a prime unit in a central location where customers can both purchase goods and enjoy an immersive experience. This is an exciting time for the Cambridge-born company and could well lead to further retail openings on a global basis.”

Raspberry Pi is located at unit 46 in the Grand Arcade.
