Cheffins Saffron Walden office is delighted to renew its sponsorship deal with Saffron Walden Cricket Club for the 2023 season.

The club had a successful season on and off the field in 2023.  The senior teams remained competitive with a number of young players establishing themselves at various levels in the senior section as they progress through the Academy.  The U19s reached the final of the Essex U19 cup competition for the third year running.

A particular highlight was the Showcase game between Cambridgeshire and Essex which saw over 500 people descend on the Anglo American Playing Fields last July.

The Academy itself continues to thrive and is the envy of many clubs.  Numbers dipped after COVID but showed strong signs of recovery last year particularly at the 4-10 age range.  With approaching 300 boys and girls, including a disabled section, the Clubs able to field 22  teams thereby ensuring everyone who wanted to was able to participate.

Bruce King, Director at Cheffins Saffron Walden says: "We are thrilled to be involved with grass roots level sport and to help in some way towards removing any barriers within sport to ensure eveyone has access to showcase their ability, at whatever level. And, of course, the cricket club has a special place in our hearts with our founder Henry Joshua Cheffins having been President of the Club in the early 1900s."
