Cheffins has bolstered its position as one of the leading commercial property agencies in the East Anglian region with the hire of William Clarke as Divisional Director.

William Clarke joins Cheffins from US-based BioMed Realty where he held the role of Leasing Director in Cambridge. Prior to this, he spent more than a decade at Savills advising on disposal and acquisition of office, tech and life science assets.  His new role will continue to focus on the leasing agency discipline across the sector.

William Clarke comments:
“Cambridge’s commercial property market is highly specialised and innovation-driven, and as the city consolidates its position as a global hub for technology and life sciences, I’m excited to continue my career journey in a market in which I am already familiar.  I am looking forward to re-connecting with longstanding contacts, as well as build new relationships across the region. Cheffins has a solid reputation in the industry, and I am looking forward to continuing my involvement in Cambridge with such an experienced and well-respected team.”

Cheffins’ Commercial Department is one of the most active in the region, with involvement in some of the largest and highest-value transactions across East Anglia. With a focus on life sciences and the tech industry, Cheffins is the retained agent at three of the Cambridge Cluster’s largest science parks, Babraham Research Park, Granta Park and Chesterford Research Park, and has been instrumental in the highest value lettings in these locations in the sector.

Michael Jones, Partner and Head of the Commercial Department at Cheffins comments: “William has an unrivalled understanding of the sector, and we are delighted to have him join the Cheffins team. The market around Cambridge is complex and nuanced, and as we are seeing the city consolidate its traditional platform of founding and incubating exciting ideas, we believe that this will translate through to fantastic opportunities within knowledge-driven sectors. The commercial division here at Cheffins is growing at pace and we see the appointment of William as a catalyst to our expansion.”
