Cheffins has signed a three year sponsorship deal with Shelford Rugby Club which sees the Cambridgeshire based firm become the principal sponsor.
This marks a major step forward in a relationship that has grown over many years with both Cheffins and the club sharing similar values and commitment to the local community.
Bill King, Chairman at Cheffins says: “As we mark our 200th anniversary, we are committed to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of future generations across the region. Given the vital role sport plays in mental health, it felt like the right moment to strengthen our partnership with Shelford Rugby Club by becoming the principal sponsor.
Our relationship with the club spans many years and it is a standout institution in the local rugby community, nurturing players from youth teams to some of the region’s top talent. As part of our bicentenary, we have also pledged £200,000 to charitable causes this year with a focus on the new Cambridge Children’s Hospital, and we’re confident that Shelford Rugby Club, with its excellent reputation, will help amplify Cheffins’ message.”
David Pimblett, Chair at Shelford Rugby Club adds: “I’m absolutely delighted to announce that our long term relationship with Cheffins has been expanded to the position of Main Club Sponsor.
I have personally dealt with Cheffins, as a buyer as well as a seller for many years in almost all of their departments and I can only congratulate them on the quality of service they provide. No wonder they are celebrating 200 years as they stand for many of the principles that we hold close at Shelford Rugby Club, principally serving a quality product sustainably.”
The first game of the season takes place on Saturday 6th September at the club’s grounds on The Davey Field, Cambridge Road, Great Shelford.
