This month has seen the Planning & Development team busy preparing representations for the Greater Cambridge Local Plan call for sites stage. In excess of 18 new sites have been submitted for the Local Plan, ranging from five new homes to up to 1000 new homes in a variety of locations throughout South Cambridgeshire. In addition, the team has been dealing with a number of commercial and mixed-use sites which have also needed submission. We will find out whether these sites have been successfully included in the Local Plan towards the end of the year in the Council’s Site Assessment document.

In terms of Five-Year Housing Land Supplies, Mid Suffolk County Council has published its annual monitoring report, in which is claims a supply of 5.06 years. This represents an oversupply of 43 houses and the team are watching closely to see how long this claimed surplus continues.
