We are looking for a full-time Yard Operative who would be based at our Auction Saleground in Sutton, near Ely, Cambridgeshire.

What will you be doing?

You would be part of a hardworking team who play an integral part in setting up the monthly auctions, which consist of tractors, implements, ground care equipment, plant and machinery.  You would also undertake general yard duties to ensure the working environment remains safe and well presented at all times. This is a hands on role and you will be working alongside colleagues assisting with the set up of the monthly Machinery and Vintage auctions both held at our Saleground.


Main purpose/scope of the role:

  • Telehandler operator – Will be responsible for loading and unloading items for the machinery auctions (training can be provided)
  • Dismantling equipment – assist with preparation of equipment for loading
  • General yard duties to include upkeep of the saleground to provide a welcoming, safe and secure environment, carrying out regular safety checks of equipment used
  • Assisting with washing and cleaning of machinery equipment in preparation for export
  • Preparation of the saleground for auction and viewing days
  • Being part of a driving team on Auction days for the tractor drive through section of the sale
  • Cataloguing and lotting items for auction
  • General administrative duties to support the department.
