Description

London: Robert Barker, 1611. Folio, approx. 38 x 25cm, with the erroneous reading "and he went into the citie" in Ruth 3:15, corrected to "...she went..." in all subsequent printings of the Bible., this copy lacking general title and all before C (January) of the Calendar, lacking double-page woodcut map, 'Lessons Proper for Holy Dayes' leaf present, lacking A1, genealogies otherwise present, then collates in 6's, New Testament with engraved title, lacks all after Aa3 of Revelation (this leaf damaged and repaired with slight losses). Overall, about 25 leaves with some damage or heavier staining and only occasional loss of text, otherwise mostly fair with only slight staining, some small repair strips, and general wear to edges or margins; some close trimming / cropping in places and odd worm holes; in damaged original binding with much loss of leather to front board.
