The view of Boulogne is based on the engraving by W Floyde produced in 1836 for Stanfield's Coast Scenery: A Series of Views in the British Channel, From Original Drawings Taken Expressly for the Work. The original drawing by Stanfield is in the Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester.
