Description

After Giambologna (Italian, 1519–1608), a bronze model of Mercury, late 19th or early 20th century,

modelled with caduceus to left hand and standing on one foot held up by the breath from a Putto's head, with a Victorian ebonised and gilt metal mounted column base
the bronze 186cm high, 273cm high overall



Provenance:
Wood Hall, Hilgay, Norfolk



In generally good condition, a visible seam to one leg with some scratching around it and a small plugged hole, a small more heavily scratched are to the back of his shoulder.  
The plinth base well scuffed and scratched, particularly around the foot.
