Taking place on Thursday 1st November, the Rainthorpe Farms Ltd sale will be hosted at West Hall Farm in Welton and will comprise a major selection of tractors, combines, loaders, sprayers, vehicles, implements and machinery. Rainthorpe Farms which spans over 3,200 acres, was offered to the open market for sale in January 2018 and was one of the largest commercial arable holdings to come to the market in the area for the past 20 years.
Oliver Godfrey, Director, Cheffins comments: “Following a sale and letting being agreed for Rainthorpe Farms, we have taken instructions from the family to host one of the largest on-farm sales to have taken place this year. There are over 375 lots on offer, ranging from late registration and high quality tractors right through to tyres, spares and workshop tools. All of the lots on offer have been well-maintained and are of a high quality, and we expect likely buyers at this major auction to include neighbouring farmers, dealers and overseas buyers.”
The highest value lot on offer is a 2016 Case IH 580 Quadtrac with only 1,331 hours on the clock. Also available are a series of well-maintained tractors including; a 2015 Caterpillar Challenger; a 2013 Case 160 Puma; a 2011 Deutz Fahr 630 and a 2016 New Holland combine harvester. There is also a JCB loader, Hitachi excavator, a self-propelled sprayer and three vehicles including a 2012 Volkswagen Amarok and a 2012 Polaris Ranger. Other machinery on offer includes drills, rolls, fertiliser spreaders, a hedge-cutter, bowsers, a press roll, ploughs, discs, power harrows, and cultivators.
Oliver Godfrey, continues: “Cheffins now hosts the most on-farm sales throughout the UK, with auctions taking place the throughout the country. On-farm sales have visibly increased in frequency as farmers look to cash in on the high prices being paid for second-hand machinery or are taking stock of their options ahead of Brexit. A number of farmers are now looking at a change in farming policy, increasing diversification or even bringing forward retirement plans which have led to a higher number of sales over the past couple of years. The beauty of an on-farm sale is it can allow the seller to completely clear the yard of all items from the biggest pieces of kit right through to minor workshop items. This is a popular solution for many farmers looking for a fresh start or the ability to disperse of kit with minimal hassle.”
The sale will take place on Thursday 1st November 2018 at 10am, at West Hall Farm, Welton, Lincoln, LN2 3PX.
