Cheffins are looking for a full-time auction administrator for their busy sale ground at Sutton, Ely.

The key role of the job will be to secure and maximise agricultural equipment consignments for our monthly collective auction, catalogue, lot up and ensure their respective section of the sale is organised and ready for auction. The role is both office and yard based.

Other duties will include dealing with pre and post-auction enquiries on a face to face or telephone basis, keeping records of items delivered and dispatched, photographing of lots upon delivery and general office duties.

The successful applicant will be an excellent communicator, be well organised and have a genuine interest in agricultural machinery with the ability and desire to build on the success of the Cambridge Machine Sale, the largest monthly auction of agricultural tractors and machinery in the world.

In addition, the successful applicant will be able to work within a small team, enjoy the outside environment and meet the challenge of what can be a hectic and demanding job. Some weekend work and overtime will be involved. Previous experience within the agricultural machinery sector and a network of contacts within the industry would be a distinct advantage.
