Samuel Prout, OWS (British, 1783-1852) Rialto Bridge, Venice inscribed with title lower left pencil 25 x 36.50cm (10 x 14in) Provenance: Dullingham House, Newmarket Other Notes: Renowned for his architectural painting, Samuel Prout was given the position of Painter in Water-Colours in Ordinary to His Majesty King George IV in 1829 and later to Her Majesty Queen Victoria. Samuel Prout taught Turner, Constable and Gainsborough.Discoloured. Sellotape marks visible along the bottom edge. Not examined out of frame. Additional images reflect the true colours more closely than the main catalogue image.
