Monro School, 19th Century A collection of watercolours and drawings, mostly by Alexander Monro (1802-1844), including landscapes after Thomas Gainsborough, one in pencil, another in pen and ink; After Giovanni Paolo Panini, 'The Arch of Constantine', inscribed with title and initials 'AM', brown ink with grey wash, 28 x 38 cm (11 x 15in); pencil drawings after Sir George Beaumont and in the manner of Constable; others after George Morland, Alexander Nasmyth; together with landscape views including Drummond Woods, Albury, Bushey Chapel, Cranham Church, Merton, Dorking, West Horsley, Fetcham, few inscribed with John Monro's initials; also numerous small pencil sketches and few watercolours, 12 x 19 (5 x 7.5in) some inscribed with title and/or initials watercolour, pen and ink, some with wash, pencil, charcoal (55)
