Footnote: Although very little biographical information on Angelo Lelli has survived, today he continues to be regarded as one of the most distinguished figures of Italian post-war design and a significant figure in the advancement of modernist lighting design. Before establishing Arredoluce in 1947, Lelli is said to have initiated his design career by designing and building lamps in his basement. The present lot, a three-armed Model 12128 "Triennale" Floor Lamp is believed to have been designed in 1947 and is frequently cited as Lelli’s most iconic design.
