Description

A French bisque porcelain Three Graces mantel clock, last quarter 19th century, after the model by Étienne-Maurice Falconet, the urn case with horizontal annular dials, supported by a fluted column attended by the Graces indicating the time, the count wheel striking movement with lever escapement, all on a relief moulded rectangular plinth with gilt metal base Other Notes: The original model by Falconet was executed in white marble about 1770. It is in the collection of the Louvre museum. Finial glued, not currently ticking. few firing cracks, some slight loss to garland flowers. A little grubby in places. See photos.
