Description

A bronze 'HILL' censer and cover, Boshanlu, Shanlu Han dynasty (206 BC - AD 220) raised on a stem foot with openwork coiled dragon motif, upon a circular drip plate; the conical cover cast in openwork as mountains, with various scenes incorporating animals including monkeys, felines, other animals and people. The surface with a pale greyish green patina having some russet colour oxidation and green encrustation, 19cm high In addition to the buyer's premium of 27% (22.5% + VAT) payable on the Hammer Price, this lot is also subject to import VAT at the reduced rate of 5%, payable on the Hammer Price. This indicates that the lot has been imported from outside the European Union.
