Twitcher's hideaway for sale

Twitcher's hideaway for sale

The highest and biggest twitcher’s hideaway near the world famous wildfowl centre at Welney Washes is for sale. The decommissioned water tower provides uninterrupted views across miles of fenland north of Ely which is 11 miles away.

It goes to auction on 25 February at the Cambridge salesroom of Cheffins. Auctioneer Simon Gooderham says: “The water tower is well located on the edge of the village of Welney and about two kilometres from the wildfowl centre. It has commanding views and could provide a weekend pied a terre for a dedicated bird watcher, subject to planning. The site area extends to around 97 sq m (1050 sq ft) and it is being offered with a guide price of £3,000 to £5,000.”

There are a total of 16 properties on offer at the Cheffins auction.
