Up first was the agricultural machinery and top lots were an Accord Pneumatic Tandem DL drill at £1,400, 10m Kongskilde Triple K at £2,050 and a set of Cousins rolls topped out at £4,000. There was an impressive line up of tractors on offer and with two mighty Case STX Quadtracs from a local contractor going under the hammer and made for a thrilling spectacle. Up first was a 2006 Case STX 530 Quadtrac and sold for a huge £97,000 and is heading north. Other highlights were an articulated John Deere 8430 at £6,500 and 1996 Case 5150 at £7,200.
There was a good selection of heavy plant on offer and excavator trade was brisk with a 2001 Volvo EC360 36tonne machine hitting £21,000, CAT 312C went to Germany for £19,750 and a 1995 JCB JS130 knocked down at £7,400. A well used CAT D7 dozer surprised at £12,000 as did a 1991 Volvo BM L90 loading shovel at £10,600. Screener and crusher trade was equally good with the 2001 Pegson Premier Trak crusher selling at £48,000 and the 2004 Terex-Finley 883 at an excellent £38,000. Also a 2006 Scania P340 8x4 20t lorry sold for £25,250.
The second half of the sale consisted of the private collection of well known demolition man Ron Haigh who’s 1982 International 1055XL 4wd tractor made £5,800, Muir Hill 121 hit £3,500 and an Australian import Howard R22 tractor made £1,250. The yellow gear kept selling well with a 1964 CAT D8 68A dozer selling at £8,400, CAT D350 dumper at £10,500 and two Manitou forklifts sold at £2,500 and £9,150.
Some good included lots sold well with a very straight Massey Ferguson 35 3cylinder selling at a vendor pleasing £2,100 and a Griffiths 10tonne grain trailer topped £3,150.
Another successful auction sale with a healthy attendance and prices to match and some encouraging confidence for plant machinery and equipment. Our next sale will be on Tuesday 9th November at Chittering, Cambridgeshire and includes four Massey Ferguson tractors, combine harvester as well as associated machinery and equipment.
TOP PLANT TRADE FOR HAIGH
Tuesday 26th October saw the sale of heavy plant, agricultural equipment and machinery for RB Haigh and Sons at Armigers Farm, Thaxted in Essex. The sale offered a real mix and catered for every sale goer who wanted a 36t excavator to a Flymo!
