Cheffins Auctioneers are proud to announce the sale of The Personal Archive of original drawings from Tom Karen, Chief Designer and Managing Director of Ogle Design, from 1962-1999. Tom Karen was responsible for a wide range of innovative products which include the Bush TR130, the best selling radio of the 1960's, the fun 3 wheeled Bond Bug, the iconic Raleigh Chopper, the 'Popemobiles', the classic Reliant Scimitar GTE and last but not least the original Kiddicraft Marble Run!
The personal archive on offer represents Toms career both pre, during and post Ogle Design days.
Tom felt the time had come to finally give others this unique opportunity to appreciate the high profile of Ogle Designs, by actually being able to own such classic drawings of design history.
Lots to include original drawings of the Scimitar GTE, sketches of a sponsored design for the Daily Telegraph of the "Women's car", as well as drawings for the Bond Bug. This original artwork represents the much loved designs for which Tom Karen is justly renowned and respected for and will be sold in Cheffins Vintage Sale 26th April 2008.
