The nine steam engine entries include: 1918 J H McLaren ploughing engine “Avis”, 1912 Charles Burrell traction engine No. 3422, 1897 Marshall traction engine “Laura”, 1929 Aveling & Porter tractor “Princess Anne”, 1930 Fowler DNB 12.5t steam roller “Arfur” and a 1915 Case direct ploughing engine “Lumberjack”.
The outstanding ploughing set consisting of a 1905 Robey 3hp portable engine, 1861 Hayes Windlass and full ploughing tackle is bound to create interest especially with its interesting background.
Fans of model steam engines will have the opportunity of bidding on a great selection from 4inch scale to table top scale including the Roger Newbury Collection of live steam models, the avid Ferguson collectors have a rare opportunity to purchase a Ferguson salesman’s model, only the second to come to market in recent years.
The tractor section has 350 entries including a Lanz Bulldog HR8 crawler tractor, 1919 Bates Steel Mule, 1920 Saunderson Model G, 1956 Marshall MP6, a brace of David Brown 50D’s, a selection of Field Marshalls, Doe Triple D rear tractor and many, many more.
Fifty motorcycle entries include machines from all eras and the 1936 BSA J12 V twin leads the pack with a 1911 AC Sociable 3 wheeler bridging the gap between motorcycles and cars. Four wheel fans will see a 1936 Lagonda LG45 project, 1968 Lotus Cortina Mk2, two French micro-cars and many other tempting offerings.
