Sutton Summer Specials
Cheffins summer sale on Saturday 18th July includes some 100 vintage and classic tractors of which a superbly put together Doe Triple D is the pick of the crop.
There are some excellent restorations including a brace of cropmasters which have been expertly restored and painted. Another highlight will be the ex- Banner lane factory snow plough consisting of an MF 590 and blade which was sold when the factory closed in 2003. A low houred example it has been refurbished and was exhibited at the Royal Show in 2008.
Other entries include a consignment of John Deeres featuring a G.W. GP and a 4020. A good display of later classics including David Brown; 770, 950, 990; MF 35,35x, 135, 165, and 185, the usual array of Fordsons, Fergusons and Nuffields complete a good show of tractors, larger tractors in the form of a County 1174 and Ford TW30 ensure that 4wd tractors are featured.
Whilst there is no steam a healthy showing of commercial vehicles are on display with 3 beavertails ready for the rally goers are on offer. Other vehicles to be offered include a 1955 Sunbeam Supreme and a 1982 Mercedes Benz 280CE.
The motorcycle section has something for everyone with a 1949 Vincent Rapide C headlining. Triumphs are well represented with examples of the Bonneville, Thunderbird, Cub, Twenty One and others to be offered. Modern classics are represented amoungst others, by a mignificent Honda VF1000R of 1985 vintage.
An important collection of period motorcycle posters is to be auctioned with many rare examples from Norton and Indian. A large collection of 1950’s car brochures is also up for grabs including some super- rare Ferrari items.
The building will house a fine selection of agricultural literature including a large traunch from the Don Macmillan John Deere Achive along with a large selection of models, many from a deceased estate.
