An unusual fundraising idea by Cheffins has won a national trophy for the Cambridgeshire branch of the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI). The firm laid on a Fine Art preview evening at their Clifton Road salesroom on the eve of a major auction.

As guests and members of the RABI enjoyed canapés and wine, they browsed the works of art and antiques on display. Christine Bish, a local RABI committee member said: “This event was judged the ‘Best Off Farm’ activity from among dozens of fundraising ideas nationwide and won the Sam Taylor Trophy. We also raised nearly £2,000 at the event from personal donations and a raffle. Cheffins will also be supporting our Wine and Roses evening at Childerley Hall on Wednesday 23 June and providing an auctioneer for our auction of promises.”
The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI) is a grant-making charity that supports members of the farming community facing need, hardship or distress.
