A 2002 Massey Ferguson 6280 found a new home at £16,900 and a 1993 Massey Ferguson 3065 was keenly bid to £8,200 before the hammer dropped. Post harvest sales of combines have been strong and the 1996 Case 2166 was no different making a credible £32,200.
Of the potato handling machinery the Oldenhuis and Prinson bag stacker made £26,000 and was last seen headed for a boat to cross the Irish Sea. An Orion bag weigher and ‘V’ track made £3,000 and £3,200 respectively. In season cultivation tackle was in great demand with a 2009 Lemken Europal 8 5furrow at £11,800 and a set of Parmiter Utah discs making £5,200.
A superb drill combi outfit made a healthy £8,000 consisting of a 2001 Reco Sulky drill and 3m Maschio power harrow. The Cleanacres 24m trailed 3000 ltr 24m sprayer topped out at £12,400 and a brace of 2007 Easterby trailers saw strong bidding to end up at £8,300 and £8,100 a piece.
Another strong trade at our last September on-site farm sale. The increasing price of new machinery is pushing more farmers to consider buying good quality second- hand kit with demand and the high price of new machinery pushing up the residual value of second hand machinery.

Wednesday 9th November: Well maintained tractors, farm machinery and equipment at Sawston, Cambridge.

A low houred 2007 John Deere 6930 was headed north after the sale for CP and DT Godfrey at Newborough, Peterborough being purchased by a Scottish farmer for £42,200. A second 2005 John Deere 6820 also with low hours fetched a strong £27,500.
