Cheffins offered the collection of Felix McDaid on Saturday 28th June 2008. On offer was a fine selection of pre-Force, Force and some low houred classic Fords.
The sale kicked off at 10.30am and a selection of Ford spares was on offer first. Of note was a set of Ford tractor weights as £135 and £170, a pair of Ford 3000 wings at £145 and a quantity of Ford dash panels at £160.
Out in the field were a selection of implements both modern and vintage and a selection of larger Ford tractor spares. Some top prices were a restored Winsam cab at £60, pallet of miscellaneous Ford spares at £100, Ford cab doors at £160, two Ford safety cabs with doors at £210, Doe 6 furrow plough at £2,850 and a Ransomes 2 furrow plough at £380.
Then it was onto the tractors. With a sizeable crowd gathered the results of merit were Massey Ferguson 188 and 135 4wd’s at £9,000 and £6,200 respectively, Ford 5610 series II at £6,100 and some topping prices achieved for a Ford 7610 series III with 812 hours recorded at £14,000 and a low houred IH 856XL with the interesting Uni-Hytel loader at £10,000. Other tractors of note were a Lanz Bulldog at £9,800, Ford 3000 pre-Force Super Dexta at £6,000, 1964 Fordson Super Dexta at £4,700 and a Ford TW25 at £5,300
This all resulted in a well attended sale with some good prices achieved and a few surprises thrown in for good measure.
