The auction, which was a result of the sale of the farm also included a Case combine and a selection of good quality machinery.
On the day both farmers and dealers were very much in the mix for all of the machinery on offer and it quickly became clear that there was keen demand for low houred tractors. Despite that the Case 310 Magnum and the Case 195 Puma on offer were both 6 years old, they achieved prices above expectations. After fierce bidding they realised £47,000 and £41,500 respectively, having covered just 4,500 hours between them.
With harvest all but a memory for this year, farmers were turning their attention to next year’s offering. As a result, we had multiple pre-sale enquiries regarding the low houred 2012 Case 7120 and the price quickly hit £91,000 before it was sold to a farmer buyer. Similarly, a 15 year old John Deere 6410, a classic and popular choice for many mixed farms was hammered down at £17,000 after prolonged bidding.
Some choice machinery was in much demand with a 2014 Lemken Europal 6 furrow at £12,000; Simba 5.5m Cultipress at £9,000; 2011 Kuhn Megant 600 at £12,000 and a Simba SL400 at £13,400. Additionally, a large selection of included lots did not disappoint with a 2003 Case 2388 at £33,000; a Caterpillar 307C excavator at £14,800 and a smart Ford 7810 at £8,300 to name but a few.
