Hodgkin’s Sale Preview

Saturday 18th June will see the exciting sale of vintage and classic tractors, implements, stationary engines and spares for Staffordshire collector Harold Hodgkins. The sale is due to Harold’s commitment to show and rally his steam traction engine and subsequently, sell his collection of no less than 17 tractors, 26 stationary engines and a full compliment of spares and associated implements. The sale is also bolstered by included lots from well known Staffordshire collector and vintage enthusiast the late Geoff Edwards as well as other local vendors.

Field Marshalls:
Harold’s collection has two in the form of a 1947 Series II and a 1957 Series III. There are also two entered from the late Geoff Edwards a 1949 Series II Contractors and a 1951 Series III in good restored condition.

David Brown:
This marque is well represented with two Cropmasters a 1946 and 1947 from Harold’s collection and another Cropmaster from Geoff Edwards’s collection.

International:
In the red corner are two very presentable 1942 IH Farmall Model A’s, a same vintage W4, a 1965 B414 in good ex-farm condition and a very original BTD6 crawler. Offering a bit more horsepower from the Geoff Edwards collection is a 1046.

Ferguson & Massey Ferguson:
Two TE-20’s are available in the auction, an earlier restored TEF-20 and a 1951 TED-20, both are very presentable tractors and will go straight to work or play. A little bit different in the context of the sale but still as useful is a Massey Ferguson 50D back hoe digger loader.

Others:
Other exciting tractors in Harold’s collection include a Massey Harris 102 Junior, a 1947 John Deere Model D, a very straight 1946 Fordson Standard N and an Allis Chalmers Model M crawler, which will present a good restoration opportunity.

There will also be a selection of useful implements, spares as well as 26 stationary engines to include Lister, Eagle, Blackstone, Wolseley, Amanco, Bamfords, Ruston & Hornsby. All this culminates in an excellent mix of lots to appeal to many enthusiasts and collectors.
