Cheffins is active in a range of markets in East Anglia and nationally. This brief newsletter offers updates on these. Also attached is the 2010 edition of the Cheffins Magazine which can be viewed on-line. This provides more detailed information on what has been happening this year.

Because we are active on large volumes of transactions across a wide range of values, our view of the market has strong credibility.

The second quarter of this year has seen some frantic activity in the property market particularly for residential property. All our five offices covering three counties have seen large volumes of transactions which have continued into the third quarter of this year.

As one of the countries leading provincial salerooms we have been attracting good quality fine art and this has lead to some exceptional prices being achieved. Our other auction activities in agricultural machinery have seen continued growth as new export markets have appeared. There have also been notable successes in the sale of historic vehicles with some record prices being achieved.

Our next Property Auction on 29th.September will once again test the land, residential and commercial property markets and give a good indication of investor interest.

While the commercial property market experiences continuing uncertainty we are finding that by being flexible on lease terms, landlords can achieve lettings and maintain cashflow.

The latter part of this year will be challenging in view of the impending Spending Review by the government and strong professional advice will be a major factor in helping clients make the best of the opportunities on offer.
