GRANGE FARM SALE HIGHLIGHTS

Thursday 5th May saw the onsite disposal sale for Grangeheath Ltd at Grange Farm, Hamerton near Huntingdon. Having sold the farm all the well maintained low houred tractors and machinery went under the hammer.

A large crowd had turned out to snap up the quality on offer with a Kubota B6200 compact tractor making £2,300, Husqvana LT151 ride-on mower topping £800, a Wessex KF10S mounted rotovator knocked down at £440 and a Wessex topper hit £320.

Grange Farm had operated a superb array of modern well maintained machinery and this was reflected with a 2003 Kuhn Vari-Master 180 6furrow plough storming to £9,000, a much sought after 2009 Sumo Trio 3 cultivator with Stocks OSR applicator selling well at £15,200 and a sharp looking 2003 Knight Triple-Press 700s 4.6m culti-press knocked down at £9,200. Trade continued to fly with a 2006 Kuhn Megant 480 drill selling at £17,500, a tidy 2006 Kuhn Axis 30.1 fertiliser spreader took £5,000, a useful set of 1996 Opico VF122HD folding rolls sold for a jawing dropping £9,200 and the first of two Kuhn power harrows a HR6002DR sold at £9,200 and the second a HR4502D topped £2,600. Grass and hay equipment was popular as expected this time of year with a Reco Fella KM225H double drum mower at £500 and a Fransgard RV300 tedder hit £1,300. Next up was a brace of superb 2008 Bailey 14tonne grain trailers and this was reflected in the £11,800 and £12,000 paid apiece, a tidy 1989 AS Marston took £2,800.

There was an outstanding line up of horsepower on show and some exceptional trade with a 2009 John Deere 8430 with only 776 hours on the clock and selling for £78,500, next up was a very sharp 2008 John Deere 7530 with 1,165 hours and sold to a farmer for £52,000, last of the green machines was a 2008 John Deere 6930 with front linkage and 1,269 hours on the clock and hit £45,000. There was a huge amount of pre-sale interest in the 1996 Case IH 5150 and resulted in an impressive hammer price of £14,600, a tidy 1988 Ford 7710 sold well for £7,000 and finally a useful 2005 John Deere 3215 materials handler hit £15,500.

The sale was well supported by local farmers and vendors and highlights of the included lots were a 2002 John Deere 6920S at £26,500, Sanderson SB45 forklift at £1,500, Browns Hectavator at £1,400, a Kongskilde Vibro-Flex hit £1,600 and a tidy Bomford B456 hedgecutter took £1,550. Good trade continued with a Cousins 6m cultivator at £1,250, Sanderson SB70 Clearview forklift at £1,875 and a 2001 Dowdeswell DP250 8furrow plough sold for £5,800.
