Cheffins secures new retail premises for East Anglia's Children's Hospices

New ten year lease on building in Cherry Hinton agreed for local charity

Located at 41 High Street, Cherry Hinton, the building was previously tenanted by Lloyds Bank. The property is over 922 sq ft and forms part of an established and busy shopping parade, within easy reach of Cambridge city centre. The unit comprises a large retail space as well as a kitchen and storage area and small rear yard, close to public car parks and on-street parking. This new premises will compliment EACH’s existing shop on Histon Road and is set to open on Thursday 13th April.

Acting for East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) across Cambridgeshire, Cheffins secured a 10-year lease at the property as part of the charity’s expansion plan and is now seeking additional retail units for the charity. EACH is one of the region’s most well-loved charities and provides support and care for children and young people with life-threatening conditions and their families across East Anglia.

Luke Davenport, Cheffins, comments: “We were pleased to secure this property on behalf of EACH. It is located in a busy area with high footfall and we hope to see the charity’s retail offering go from strength to strength from this new premises. Cheffins has always been supportive of EACH, having raised over £9,400 in donations last year alone. We are pleased to continue to act on the charity’s behalf and help with their growth within the retail sector and we are now looking for additional units to add to their portfolio.”

Ian Nicolson, EACH Head of Retail and Trading, said: “We’re delighted that plans are now well under way to extend our retail offering to Cherry Hinton. Our thanks to Cheffins for helping secure the premises. This will be our 23rd shop in East Anglia and we’re always on the look-out for more. We’re particularly looking for big edge-of-town units that we can trade furniture from and use to help us build donations. In the past financial year EACH shops generated an impressive profit of more than £700,000, which all goes towards helping local families make the most of their precious time together.”   On opening, EACH in Cherry Hinton will allow visitors to buy second-hand items, gifts, cards, donate or volunteer.
