With clearing skies, a touch of sunshine and an enthusiastic crowd of bidders generously topped up by our regulars from another successful Cambridge Machinery Sale, we got underway. In the early lots a Tee Jet Centreline 220 guidance system sold for £220, an EHRLE HD623 pressure washer cleaned £880, a Murray 18IC/46 ride-on mower took £400 and a useful Ford 6cylinder diesel engined irrigation pump strolled to £600.
There was some useful cultivation kit on offer and all had been well maintained, which was reflected in the bidding with interest again from some of our German buyers and some strong domestic trade resulted in a Kverneland LF85 6furrow plough taking £5,300, a sharp 2006 Simba SL400 min till cultivator staying local at £28,500, the 1994 Simba Double Press reached £7,800 and a not so popular 2003 Simba Horsch CO6 trailed drill knocked down at £8,800. A clean set of 1996 Cousins Sidewinder 12m rolls surprised all at £13,800, a c.2000 Stanhay Rallye 592 sugar beet drill sold well at £5,000 and a smart 2002 AS Marston ACE10 10tonne dump trailer sold at £4,900.
A fine line up of tractors found top money with a 2004 John Deere 6920 at £28,000, a 2000 Claas Challenger 55 took £28,000, a useful 1979 Ford 7600 made an unexpected £5,200, a one owner 1972 Massey Ferguson 135 made top money selling at £4,300 and a very clean 1994 Claas Dominator 208 Mega strolled to £31,000. There was just time for two included self-propelled sprayers with a 1995 Sands 2,000ltr selling at £9,400 and a 1991 Bateman Hi-Low Contour realised £10,100.
