Crackling sale at Blue Boar!
Tuesday 28th June saw the impressive sale of excavators, plant, tractors, vehicles and floating plant on behalf of Blue Boar Contracts Ltd due to loss of contract. There was an excellent selection of well maintained excavators and plant on offer and was snapped up by a huge crowd of eager bidders.
Top lots in the plant section went to a super sharp 2007 JCB JS220 at £50,000 on i-bidder, £36,800 was paid for a 2002 Case CX240 with an 18.5m long reach, a 2007 Hitachi 130 Zaxis went for an impressive £35,500 and a very tidy 2009 Hitachi 70LC Zaxis knocked down for £32,200. Continuing in the plant section was the £25,500 paid for a Komatsu CD110R tracked dumper and £10,000 was paid apiece for the two JCB 716 dumpers, a super brace of 1985 CAT D4E’s sold well at £8,500 and £7,500, a 1990 CAT D4H dozer topped £14,500 and the Powerscreen Powertrak 600 surprised all at £18,500.
Three sharp low houred Case MXM’s were well received selling at £21,800 for a 2004 MXM190, £17,800 for the 2004 MXM140 and £20,000 for a 2003 MXM130. There was also great trade for the agricultural implements on offer with a 2007 Maschio Recovator at £4,300, a 2000 Kongskilde Stonebear topped a massive £10,900, a set of Pettit Coral 3m discs hit £3,000, a Ken Wootton 11tonne trailer sold well at £2,300 and a useful 1998 Hill Engineering dump trailer hit £5,800.
There was much speculation over the value of the floating plant as it rarely comes to the market in this quantity and it surprised a few sale goers with a shallow tug/weed boat with front loader and buck rake selling at £21,000, a narrow beam tug hit £10,000 and another sold well at £8,000. The pontoons received a lot of presale interest and this resulted in some spirited bidding with a 2010 two section pontoon at £14,000 and a 2003 3section topped £18,000 other two section pontoons ranged from £4,800 to £6,500.
Overall some exceptional trade for all lots with a healthy crowd and following online all resulted in a very successful sale.
