Cheffins are delighted to have been asked to offer for sale a Massey Ferguson 35 diesel tractor, the entire proceeds of which will go to charity.
First registered in 1960 and with just two previously recorded owners the tractor arrived in its working clothes at the college. With parts kindly donated by Vapormatic the tractor was stripped down and re-built and will be offered for sale at the Cambridge Vintage Sale on Saturday 26th July 2008 (Lot No. 1843).
Cheffins will waive all commissions and costs with the monies raised going to the Sue Ryder Hospice at Nettlebed, Oxon. Sue Ryder provides care and support for people living with serious illness and their families.
The second charity was chosen by the students on the first year National Diploma in Land Based Technology in memory of a friend. Earlier this year the college was hit by tragedy, when Chris Hughes a student on the National Diploma in Agriculture and a friend to many of the students, was killed in a road accident near the college. Chris’s parents asked that any donations made in his name should go to Diabetes UK. Diabetes UK is the largest organization in the UK working for people with diabetes, funding research, campaigning and helping people live with the condition.
