Cheffins help for Haverhill charity
Cheffins has boosted a scheme to help lonely elderly people in Haverhill.
The firm has made a donation which will more than double the size of the existing Elderly Befriending scheme. Currently eight volunteers are working with 12 clients. This will be expanded to 30 volunteers helping upwards of 30 elderly people.
Sam Cooke of Cheffins said: “This is an important scheme for Haverhill and we are delighted to provide this support. We make donations to a number of other charities through our Community Fund.”
Elaine Hewes of Haverhill Volunteer Centre says: “We offer support, information and advice regarding volunteering to voluntary and community groups, we recruit, support and train volunteers. A number of key projects in and around Haverhill are co-ordinated by Haverhill Volunteer Centre. This donation will enable us to increase the help we can offer through the befriending scheme.”
