CHEFFINS APPOINTS LEADING UK VALUER
Cheffins has appointed a former leading government surveyor, Mark Catley MRICS FAAV, as a consultant.
He was formerly District Valuer for the East of England and most recently Group Valuation Officer, covering the counties of Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
Two of his major local achievements were to value, for rating purposes, every property owned by the University of Cambridge and the colleges, and revalue, for asset purposes, all NHS properties in the East of England.
Mark has dealt with Cheffins across the negotiating table for over twenty years and is convinced that the quality of the firm is equal to and, in many cases, above that of other very much larger practices.
Cheffins Director Simon Lewis said: “Mark’s appointment marks another stage in our expansion. He will add immeasurably to our expertise in rural, commercial and statutory valuation experience, dispute resolution, agricultural tax law and litigation. He will also open up a wide range of business opportunities and enable us to expand the range of services we provide to our commercial and rural clients.
“There are few valuers regionally or nationally with his breadth of knowledge, skill and contacts. He will significantly enhance our stature beyond many of our competitors.”
Mark says “When I was asked to join Cheffins as a consultant I was absolutely delighted to accept. Having spent my entire working life in the public sector, the decision to join such an excellent and highly motivated firm of surveyors was not at all difficult. I have negotiated long and hard with a large number of directors of Cheffins over the years but have always appreciated their integrity, tenacity and professionalism”.
