Cheffins Grassroots Endowed Fund

5th Newmarket Guides and Rangers and Home-Start (Cambridgeshire) benefit from charity donation

The 5th Newmarket Guides and Rangers has received a gift of £1,430 in the latest round of donations by the Cheffins Grassroots Endowed Fund. The charity provides girl guiding activities to members who have severe disabilities. The donation will enable the unit to purchase new uniforms promoting a inclusivity for all its members.

Home-Start (Cambridgeshire), which safeguards, protects and preserves the good mental and physical health of children and their parents during crisis. The charity will receive a donation of £1300 which will go some way to supporting three families with children under nine years old who are at a personal crisis point in their lives and require support with mental health issues.

The Cheffins Grassroots Endowed Fund offers small grants to local voluntary and community organisations working to help people in need. Priority is given to areas around Cambridge, Ely, Newmarket, Haverhill and Saffron Walden.Since the start of 2017, a number of charities have benefitted from the fund including Romsey Mill Trust; Red Balloon Learner Centre and St Nicholas Hospice.
