Bristol Booty!
Cheffins is pleased to announce the first steam engine to be offered at its third Bristol Vintage Sale on Saturday 27th February 2010, a very desirable and superbly presented 1923 Fowler T3 Road Roller ‘Irish Lady’ No. 15965.
With entries rolling in there is the usual complement of well presented tractors in the form of a Fordson E27N P6, Massey Ferguson 165, Ferguson TE-20 and an International Farmall H to name a few. There is something for everyone with some original examples of an Allis Chalmers Model B, Bean tractor steerage hoe and c.1983 International 785. Other outside lots of note include some excellent tractors spares in the form of David Brown round fenders, Leyland 384 fenders, Fordson Major tinwork, IH 275 bonnet and a John Deere Sulky plough.
The lots in the building are not to be outdone with an interesting c.1935 Joseph Evans Duplex steam tar pump for restoration and a Tangye VCRZ stationary engine with dynamo and mounted on a trailer. Also consigned from a deceased estate is a fantastic collection of 20 lots of steam literature to include a c.1905 Bristol Wagon & Carriage Works Co. Ltd single fold illustrated leaflet, c.1911 illustrated catalogue of C.W Harris & Co. of the ‘Mendip’ Commercial Vehicle including 3 and 5ton steam wagon also in the collection is literature on Aveling & Porter, John Fowler & Co. Ltd, H. Richards & Co. Ltd Engineers and Steam Rolling Contractors, Newport, Monmouth and Clayton & Shuttleworth. There is also memorabilia, models and many other lots on offer to attract the public.
