Brayshaw Living Wagon

For sale by private treaty

In years gone by the Brayshaw Living Wagon was a comfortable retreat for fairground families away from the ardous days of running a fairground. William Brayshaw & Sons of Yeadon in Leeds were regarded as the premier manufacturer of Living Vans.

The Brayshaw Living Wagon, which is currently for sale by private treaty,  is an early edition Brayshaw which was owned by Preslands.  It was originally on wooden wheels and during its working life was placed on an eagle chassis. The chassis has been overhauled by the current owner and new rims have been made to take modern trailer tyres. The exterior has been re-boarded and new teak doors and windows fitted.

The accommodation consists of a living room with desk, stove and a pull-out bed, chest of drawers and glazed cupboards. The bedroom has a double bed, chest of drawers and a corner cupboard. The ceilings have been renewed and are copies of the original ceiling. There are four angel lamps in the van, all of which work together with occasional 12 volt lighting. The hostess stove was manufactured by the vendor using the original as patterns. The belly boxes have also been renewed. All the lining has been carried out in 23 carat gold leaf.
