Next up on Friday 9th September is an auction of farm machinery and equipment on behalf of two neighbouring farmers who are both separately entering farm contract arrangements. The sale at Bar Farm Longstanton near Cambridge consists of three low houred Massey Fergusons including a 2005 MF 6485 with a mere 562 hours and a 2008 5445 with 381 hours. Other tractors; 1994 MF 3085 4wd, 1999 MF 6280, 1980 MF 590 and a Case 5150. Also included is an excellent MF 7278 (’02) combine which will have just completed this years harvest. There is an excellent range of machinery and equipment off both farms and a good range of corn trailers.
Just up the A14 at Bury St Edmunds, the next auction sale is on behalf of Rushbrooke Farms as a result of a change in farming policy. The jewel in the crown of this sale is an immaculate 2009 Claas Lexion 550 combine. Not far behind in the quality stakes is an excellent 2010 Deutz Fahr M650 with a paltry 523 hours to it’s name and a superb 2008 Manitou MLT 735-120 materials handler. A good range of farm machinery and trailers compliment this interesting sale.
At Pinfold Farm, near Peterborough we are selling the farm machinery on behalf of CP and TD Godfrey following the sale of the farm by Cheffins. The sale consists of Combine harvester, tractors and arable and potato handling and growing machinery. Tractors include; 2007 JD 6930, 2005 JD 6820, 2002 MF 6280, MF 3065 and 165, together with a good range of implements and potato equipment including a Oldenhuis and Prinson OPPM potato bag palletiser and various Tong conveyors etc.A 1996 Case 2166 Combine together with several excellent Easterby root trailers make up another fascinating auction sale.
Back down to Badwell Ash near Bury St Edmunds we are holding what will undoubtedly be one of the sales of the year when we offer for sale the late Peter Fordhams’ collection of vintage tractors, Caterpillars, steam engine, stationary engines and over 300 cast iron implement seats on Saturday 17th Septemeber. Over 40 tractors come under the hammer with an excellent range of Cats including D8, D7, D6, D4, D2, R2, DW15, 955; Marshalls; M, 2, 3, 3A and other makes such as Turner, Fowler, Fordson etc. The most notable tractor will, however, be the 1920 Walsh and Clark which was used locally by Miles Drainage in their fleet of Walsh and Clark tractors. The star will, ofcourse be the 1925 Wm Allchin steam traction engine ‘Royal Chester’ which Peter Fordham purchased through Cheffins’ Vintage sales at Chilford Hall in 1999. Several classic commercials, Land Rover series one and a collection of very interesting and rare stationary engines ensure that this sale should not be missed by any discening vintage enthusiast.
