Artists of Chelsea

Fine Art Sale 22nd & 23rd September 2010.

Cheffins are proud to announce the forthcoming September Fine Art sale which will be auctioning paintings from the respected ‘Artists of Chelsea’, to include Lucette de la Fougere, Leopold Pascal and Kenneth Krome Barratt.

Lucette de la Fougere was a Council Member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, a Member of the Society of British Artists, a member of the Free Painters and Sculptors, and the National Society, as well as a full member of the Royal Society and the Artists of Chelsea, one of the oldest members clubs in London, founded by Whistler and his bohemian Chelsea friends in 1891.

Although from a French family she was born in London and exhibited at the Royal Academy and had a solo show at the Mall Galleries, London. Her lover, the Breton painter Leopold Pascal started his career in Paris and then settled in Chelsea after the war. Krome Barratt was President of the NS and ROI and member of RBA, and also exhibited at the Royal Academy.
