Art deco property for auction

Art deco property for auction

A rare Art Deco property set in nearly an acre west of Cambridge tops the list of properties in the next Cheffins Property Auction on 22 July. Formerly a popular country pub, it has been converted into four one and two bedroom flats.

Cheffins auctioneer Simon Gooderham says: “This really is a unique opportunity. Located just outside the village of Whaddon, it has potential to be converted into a unique single residence. Alternatively, it could provide prominent premises with potential for a variety of commercial roadside uses, subject to planning consent.”

The guide price is £250,000 - £300,000.

THREE BEDROOM HOUSE AT HILTON
Twelve miles northwest of Cambridge is a three bedroom semi-detached house near the centre of the historic village of Hilton. Recently refurbished to include a new kitchen, oil fired central heating and UPvC double glazing, it has gardens to three sides.

With a guide price of £130,000 - £150,000, it is described by auctioneer Simon Gooderham as ideal for first time buyers or as an investment buy-to-let.

FORMER POST OFFICE NEAR ELY
Just south of Ely, in Little Downham village, the Old Post Office has a guide price of £160,000 - £170,000. The property requires renovation and offers the opportunity for conversion to a residential or as a ground floor shop/office with an extensive first floor three bedroom flat.

BUILDING PLOT AT PRICKWILLOW
Also close to Ely is a building plot for a three bedroom, two bathroom, detached house, in the hamlet of Prickwillow. It has a frontage of approximately 9.5 metres and an average depth of approx 45 metres, allowing for a good size garden overlooking farmland.

The guide price is £55,000 - £65,000.

RANGE OF COMMERCIAL OPPORTUNITIES
Among a range of commercial or mixed use properties is a retail unit in Ramsey, near Huntingdon, with flat above which has planning consent to convert into two residential units.

A mid terrace property it is located just off the main shopping parade of Great Whyte and the High Street. Auctoneer Simon Gooderham says: “It is a flexible property providing a realistically priced opportunity for investors or occupiers which could be continued in mixed use or turned into residential units for letting or onward sale."

The guide price is £75,000 - £85,000.

Two commercial workshop/manufacturing premises are also in the auction, one in Haverhill and the other just three miles north of Haverhill in a prominent roadside location. Both properties are vacant and offer competitively priced opportunities for owner occupiers.
