A stunning oil painting of 'Heavy Weapon', winner of the Benacre Cup 1909 and Waterloo Cup in 1910 by Wright Barker (1864-1941), one of the most respected 'animal painters', will be coming up for auction at Cheffins Fine Art Sale, June 9th & 10th, 2010.
This champion greyhound painting offers buyers a rare opportunity to purchase this classic oil, descending directly from the provenance of Samuel Hill-Wood, an avid sportsman of the Hill-Wood dynasty from Arsenal Football Club. This sale will also include the 15ct gold Benacre Cup won by Mr Hill-Woods 'Heavy Weapon', which will have an estimate of £7,000-10,000.
