Cheffins Success in September Auction!
The September Fine Art Sale was very successful throughout all sections, with some excellent results. The William Fraser Garden paintings sold very well - lot 806 made £2,800, lot 807 made £2,600 and lot 808 made £2,400.
Another fun lot was lot 610 A George III silver tooth powder box. This set included various items including a plain silver tongue scraper, a silver toothbrush by Matthew Linwood of Birmingham 1805, a silver tooth powder box by John Thornton, Birmingham 1823 - obviously an extremely rare lot as not many people really bothered with cleaning their teeth in those times! With an estimate of £350-450 it finally sold after much saleroom battling for £1,500!
Lot 1176 a miniature radially extending circular mahogany dining table, dated 1851 possibly made for the Great Exhibition, also attracted much attention and finally sold for £8,000.
The next Fine Art Sale will be on 25th & 26th November.
