A collection of twenty-two Oxford and Cambridge caricatures by Robert Dighton (1752-1814) will be included in this July Book auction.

To include ' A View of the Telegraph, Cambridge' - an etching of Dick Vaughan, who was the driver of the Cambridge Telegraph, a famous coach. He was also known as 'Hell-fire-Dick', and was a ' favourite companion of University fashionables.' Sadly he died when he fell out of his gig! Another image from St.Johns depicts Dr James Wood, who was Master of St.Johns in 1815 and was extremely influential in the College, where he lived for about sixty years, leaving them thousands of pounds and his library.

Sold for £500.
